AL Facilitator Training

ILM recognisedProfessional Development Programme in Action Learning Facilitation – ILM Recognised

This 3-day course is an intensive and experiential training in the theory, format and skills of Action Learning (AL) and how to successfully introduce this method to others.

Delegates work in a real Action Learning group or ‘Set’ from the beginning. Each person facilitates the practice Set twice during the course and receives in-depth feedback from the trainers and from other delegates.

Participants gain:

  • an understanding of Action Learning theory and practice
  • the skills necessary to become an effective Action Learning facilitator
  • a tried and tested format for introducing and using Action Learning
  • the knowledge and confidence to start using Action Learning  immediately
  • ideas, tools and resources to use with teams and colleagues
  • input and support from trainers with many years’ experience.

The course is suitable for people who have some experience of training or facilitating groups and teams, however no previous Action Learning experience is required. Comprehensive learning materials are provided which participants may take away and apply.

“We achieved so much personal learning that will support my professional role.  I’ve formed supportive relationships that will help me to further develop and refine my skills so I can work effectively as an Action Learning Facilitator to the benefit of my service.  Thanks to Jan and Mollie for the new knowledge, delivered in a way I can relate to and benefit so clearly from.”

Christine Mountford, Nursery Manager
Heatherwood & Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

“I thoroughly enjoyed the course, it was an excellent introduction to the concept and practice of Action Learning Sets. The trainers were excellent too, with a good sense of humour as well as being very approachable.  Rather than providing all the answers, they encouraged us to think for ourselves, which also built up confidence.”

Linda Hendry, Professor of Operations Management and Head of Department, Lancaster University
